Associate Attorney

Our client is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney, licensed in the state of North Carolina, to join their team. Candidates should have demonstrated experience presenting or acting as second chair at trials, arguing motions, handling depositions, and conducting appeals. This position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale cases across multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee complex civil litigation matters, including pleadings, discovery, motions, trials, and appeals in consumer protection, data privacy & cybersecurity, mass tort & products liability, and environmental & toxic tort litigation
• Conduct and defend depositions of parties, experts, and witnesses
• Draft and argue substantive motions in state and federal court
• Handle trial preparation and participate in trials as needed
• Contribute to appellate brief writing and preparation of oral arguments
• Participate in strategy formulation, investigations, and legal research
• Collaborate with internal and external counsel and litigation support personnel to develop and execute case strategies
• Communicate effectively with opposing counsel, clients, and other parties, and provide partners and clients with ongoing updates and guidance

Requirements:

• JD
• Licensed to practice in the state of North Carolina
• 1–4 years of litigation experience in class action, mass tort, or other complex civil litigation matters
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Self-starter able to work independently as a remote Associate
• Plaintiff-side experience litigating in federal courts and multi-district litigation (MDL) preferred

Location: Remote (in or near Charlotte NC is required) Compensation: Salary range: $120-150K base plus bonus from practice group results and strong benefits plan.
