Director of Information Governance (Remote)

Position Overview:  Our client is a provider of consulting services to major law firms and corporate legal departments. Working closely with a team of highly experienced thought leaders, the Director of Information Governance shall lead the division while managing delivery of leading technology and service solutions to large global law firms.

Responsibilities

  • In a leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, the Director shall guide division operations, strategy, policies and practices while committing to continuous process improvement and excellence in service
  • Initiate business development activities, generate revenue opportunities
  • Manage and mentor staff
  • Set and manage budget, financial, billing, and utilization goals
  • Implement plans aligned with corporate strategy.
  • Evaluate existing IG policies and recommend changes, enhancements, and optimization to clients
  • Consult directly with clients to design and implement information governance systems using best practices
  • Design, implement, and deploy information governance systems
  • Maintain the highest level of current technical expertise and industry knowledge
  • Act as an SME to present at industry  conferences, events, and CIO roundtable events
  • Write articles and white papers for publication

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of law firm information governance, privacy regulations including (but not limited to) CCPA, GDPR  
  • 5+ years IG consulting to large law firms on policy and assessment
  • 5+ years developing and implementing IG plans with global law firms
  • Expert knowledge of IG  issues faced by law firms dealing with massive amounts of ESI
  • Robust knowledge of leading information governance technologies and systems used by global law firms
  • Strong familiarity with IG solutions such as FileTrail, IRM, Elite, Aderant, and InTapp.
  • Certifications in CIPP, CRM, IGP, CIP
  • Understanding of the risk management issues specifically faced by law firms
  • History of speaking and writing about law firm information governance issues
  • Travel as needed
  • BA or equivalent required, JD preferred

 Compensation: Salary range: $175-200K+ base plus variable comp and strong benefits
